Tower‑type sand‑making plants represent an advanced closed‑loop dry‑process solution for high‑quality manufactured sand production. By stacking all processing units vertically inside a steel‑structure tower, the system takes full advantage of gravity for material flow. It saves floor space, cuts energy consumption and delivers eco‑friendly production with minimal dust emission. Let’s walk through its complete working principle.

Raw Material Feeding & Impact Crushing

Crushed rock raw material (1‑5 cm fragments) is delivered by the feeding belt conveyor to the top floor of the tower and fed into the core sand‑making machine. Inside the machine, high‑speed rotors and wear‑resistant hammers drive intense rock‑on‑rock and rock‑on‑liner impact. Rocks are shattered and rounded into a mixed material containing coarse fragments, semi‑finished sand and stone powder. The mixture falls to the tower base and is collected by the bucket elevator.

Vertical Lifting & Closed‑circuit Screening

The bucket elevator lifts mixed material all the way to the top‑mounted circular vibrating screen. Driven by high‑frequency vibration, the screen separates particles by size. Oversized uncrushed rock slides down the return chute and flows by gravity back into the sand‑making machine for re‑crushing, forming an efficient closed‑loop circulation. Qualified semi‑finished sand passes through screen meshes and drops down to the powder separator.

Air Classification for Adjustable Fines Content

Inside the powder separator, upward airflow performs precise air classification. Dense qualified sand particles resist the air flow and fall downwards to the finished‑sand silo on the ground floor. Light stone powder is carried by airflow into the central baghouse dust collector. Operators can adjust fan air volume to precisely control stone‑powder ratio, a critical factor for concrete performance.

Dust Collection, Powder Recovery & Final Discharge

The central baghouse dust collector traps nearly all fugitive stone powder. Captured fines drop into the dedicated fines silo, which can later be sold as valuable by‑products for cement or brick factories. Clean filtered air is released to atmosphere through the exhaust stack to meet environmental standards. Final premium manufactured sand is stored in the bottom finished‑product silo and loaded directly onto trucks for delivery to concrete batching plants and construction sites.

Core Advantages of the Tower‑Layout Design

The whole production runs in full enclosure. Only high‑grade manufactured sand and recyclable stone powder exit the system, generating almost zero waste. Gravity‑driven material flow reduces extra conveying equipment, lowering power cost. Meanwhile, integrated dust suppression ensures a clean workshop and compliant exhaust emissions.
